- Tesla Cybertruck exploded in front of Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on January 1st
- One death was confirmed, and seven people injured
- FBI investigating possible premeditated terrorist attack due to timing with New Orleans mass shooting
A Tesla Cybertruck exploded in front of a Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 1st. At least one death has been confirmed from this incident, and also 7 people were left injured from these events.
The explosion was reported on the morning of the first day of the year, and so far several videos of the incident depicting the Cybertruck in flames have surfaced online. Due to its closeness in date to the New Orleans mass shooting, the FBI is investigating the incident in order to determine if it was indeed a premeditated terrorist attack.
Furthermore, the vehicle was rented in the name of an Army Master Sergeant by the name of Matthew Alan Livelsberger—he was the only confirmed casualty of this macabre event. While nothing has been confirmed by investigators yet, the coincidence of the Tesla vehicle exploding in front of a Trump hotel points to a potential protest against the Republican and its most notorious 2024 election backer, Elon Musk.
In a public statement on X, Elon Musk was quick to assure that the explosion had occurred due to “very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck,” — ensuring the public that the explosion was not a potential defect with the vehicle.
