  • It aims to demonstrate the Democrats’ pro-crypto stance

The Democratic Party has launched the ‘Crypto for Harris’ campaign, which is supported by key crypto figures like David Plouffe and Gene Sperling.

Details On the ‘Crypto for Harris’ Campaign

The Democratic’ Crypto for Harris’ campaign aims to change the anti-crypto perception that many blame Joe Biden for shaping.

They now want to appear as the engine of a broader policy to position the U.S. as a leader in blockchain and cryptocurrency and show the 40 million U.S. crypto holders that they have a choice as both parties take a pro-crypto stance.

Democratic lawmakers such as House member Wiley Nickel and Ro Khanna have partnered with the crypto industry to support Harris’ campaign. Notable figures such as David Plouffe and Gene Sperling are among the campaign consultants.

New vector supporters include Mark Cuban, founder of SkyBridge Capital, and Anthony Scaramucci, a crypto supporter and crypto investor, who plan to hold a virtual town hall meeting with leading Democrats and cryptocurrency supporters.

How Does ‘Crypto for Harris’ Affect Donald Trump?

As we wrote in our other article, Kamala Harris has not rushed to speak in favor of Bitcoin 2024. The rumored reason for this was thorough preparation for an extensive pro-crypto campaign rather than making loud statements.

Rep. Wiley Nickel, D-N.C.:

“We’re not giving this issue to Trump. We want to encourage innovation and protect consumers, but allowing crypto to become a political football is only going to set the U.S. further behind.”

In the end, the rumors paid off, and we may see a campaign that is not fixated on Bitcoin but seeks to adapt blockchain and crypto as an industry.

Moe Vela, a former Biden adviser and now a senior adviser to crypto firm Unicoin, said:

“Bringing crypto experts like Plouffe and Sperling onto her campaign is a far more powerful statement than just standing up at a Bitcoin conference and pandering to the industry for votes.”

Conclusions

Regardless of party, both presidential candidates agree on one thing: the huge potential of crypto.

Each is trying to attract key players from the crypto industry to make this adaptation as thorough as possible and to prevent anyone else from becoming the crypto capital except the U.S.

Let’s see if Kamala Harris convinces crypto holders of her intentions and how it will affect the U.S. elections.
