- Up Mobile is the first Web3 smartphone with AI and blockchain technology
- Up Network aims to distribute 100,000 units by year’s end
- AI and zero-knowledge proof technology to identify users securely and privately
Up Mobile, the first Web3 smartphone based on blockchain technology will be available this year. It offers the benefits of AI.
Up Mobile is different from classic Apple and Google smartphones. With Up Mobile, you don’t have to worry about obstacles or bans to Web3 applications.
Up Mobile: the features
Up Network, a team connecting mobile devices to the blockchain has just launched Up Mobile, the first Web3 smartphone that offers the benefits of AI and blockchain.
Movement Labs, which provides blockchain technology to protect user data, is collaborating with the team. In April 2024, they received a $38 million grant to integrate Facebook’s Move Virtual Machine on the Ethereum blockchain.
In any case, Up Network already has a waiting list of more than 10,000 people for its Web3 smartphone. The team aims to distribute about 100,000 phones by the end of this year.
With so many ecosystem partners already on board and a potential user base of nearly 7 billion mobile phone users globally, Up Network is in a great position for rapid growth and adoption.
In a tweet, the Movement team said the phone will have compatibility with EVM/MoveVM, AI capabilities for personalized crypto experiences, a dApp store with smart wallets and account abstraction, the DePIN Kit and 45+ partners and rewards.
Up Mobile: the AI and blockchain-based smartphone
In commemoration of UP Mobile’s inaugural launch, Roy Liu, the co-founder of Up Network, emphasizes the significance of the new Web3 smartphone not being developed by Apple or Google.
This ensures that it will not be subject to the conditions imposed by the two companies, which often impede or prohibit Web3 applications. Next, Liu underscores the significance of the collaboration with Movement Labs in enhancing the usability of AI.
Artificial intelligence algorithms process and create unique digital identifiers using facial recognition and fingerprint data, ensuring that each user can only register once. However, thanks to zero-knowledge proof technology, identity is proven without revealing biometric data.
Impact on Crypto Users
Up Mobile could change how crypto users use Web3 apps, Which differs from traditional smartphones. It lets users access blockchain apps without restrictions.
With AI and security features, users can enjoy more privacy and convenience. This could help more people use cryptocurrencies and decentralized apps.
