Ripple Labs’ altcoin XRP has just hit its highest price in history. Today, January 16, 2025, the asset hit the value of $3.34, surpassing its previous record of $3.30 seen in 2018.
What led XRP to reach its record-breaking level began in the last quarter of 2024, when the asset quickly began rising through the crypto ranks. The currency was seen with immense investor optimism following the Trump victory at last year’s U.S. election, filled with hopes that the Republican will provide a less strict regulatory framework in the United States.
As of now, XRP trades at $3.32 per token, boosted by an incredible 16.41% in value over the last 24 hours. The weekly charts reveal an even more bullish scenario with a massive 47.8% increase in just seven days.
In less than 3 months, XRP was able to grow by over 477% in value, going from around fifty cents a coin to today’s milestone price of $3.30.
What is Next For XRP?
Reaching the top doesn’t necessarily mean that the currency is ready to halt its forward momentum. In fact, some investors believe that the coin’s new value could be just the start.
